The St. Francis Xavier Parish in 160 Champaca St., Maligaya Park Subdivision, Novaliches, Quezon City. Its feast day is December 3.
In 1979, a small group of determined residents of Maligaya Park Subdivision planned the construction of a make shift chapel. With the blessing of Rev Fr, Walter de Vilder, former Parish Priest of The Ascension of Our Lord Parish, the makeshift chapel located at the corner of Atrium St. under a Sampaloc tree was built and named as St. Joseph the Worker-Sub Parish. The first mass was held on February 11, 1979.
On September 17, 1980, Mr. Paul Sycip of Maligaya Park Subdivision donated a parcel of land at Champaca St. for the chapel. This prompted the construction of a chapel building with the assistance of the Ascension of Our Lord Parish.
It was on June 8, 1992 when His Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin established St. Francis Xavier Parish. It was inaugurated on December 3, 1992 with St. Joseph as second patron. These also give way to the establishment and construction of the St. Francis Xavier Parochial School, which caters to the poor families of the parish. The school’s four-story building was blessed by His Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin+ on June 15, 1999.
On July 2002, Rev. Fr. Gabriel Zavala, SX was appointed as the third Parish Priest with Rev. Fr. Carl Chudy, SX as Parochial Vicar. Fr. Gabriel continued almost all the projects that Fr. Jorge has started. He also founded the St. Francis Xavier Clinic.
