Located in Area B, Camarin, Caloocan City, the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish was initially a sub-parish of the Our Lady of Fatima Parish which was under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Manila. Its formation and development started with the construction of a small chapel near the present site of the Camarin Health Center.
The construction of the first chapel was made possible through the bayanihan spirit of the residents of Camarin under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Manny Gabriel, the then parish priest of the Our Lady of Fatima Parish. However, this chapel did not last long and was transferred to another location, which became the present site of the church. This site was considered the center of Camarin during that time since it was the place where the residents converge every morning to wait for the jeepneys that transport them to Novaliches proper and where they alight when going home from work.
The arrival of the ICM sisters in Camarin facilitated the development of this particular site. Through the initiative of the sisters and the support of the local church leaders, a multi-purpose hall with several function rooms was constructed. The multi-purpose hall served as the chapel where mass was held every Sunday.
The formal chapel was not immediately constructed because the money used was a donation from the Belgian government and it was earmarked for the construction of facilities designed for humanitarian purposes and not meant for structures intended to advance any religious interest.
The Our Lady of Lourdes sub-parish was canonically declared a parish on 7 October 1986 by His Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin. Its feast day is on February 11. The late Rev. Fr. John Moran, S.J., who was then very active in Camarin, began his work as the first parish priest on 8 August 1988. His main concern aside from the celebration of the mass and the administration of the sacraments was the formation of more Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC), a move that was initiated by Rev. Fr. Manny Gabriel, in its 19 sub-parishes.
With the creation of new parishes, the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish was left with only five sub-parishes or pamayanan: Mary the Queen in Lillesville, Christ the King in Del Rey, Sto. Niño in Sto. Niño, Ina ng Laging Saklolo in Libis and Our Lady of Lourdes in Lourdes. Rev. Fr. John Arturo Morota was installed as the second parish priest on 1 April 1995 followed by Rev. Fr. Jaime C. Bautista on 13 June 1997, Rev. Fr. Albert N. Delvo on 1 January 2000 and Rev. Fr. Daniel Allan D. Samonte on 1 June 2007.
Fr. Allan transformed not only the spirituality of the parishioners but also the physical structure of the church and its surroundings. The renovation of the church coincided with the 25th anniversary of the parish on 7 October 2011. Fr. Luciano Felloni was assigned in June 2013 as the new Parish Priest.
