Let Echoes of Mercy Resonate Among The Youth of Novaliches

“For He has remembered His promise of mercy.” (Lk 1:54)

The Diocese of Novaliches Commission on Youth (COY NOVA) invites every one to participate in the upcoming activities for the Diocesan Visit of the Pilgrim Cross of Mercy on October 28-30, 2016.

Said to be Echoes of Mercy, the Pilgrim Cross of Mercy is etched with images portraying the different Works of Mercy that the Youth–and all Catholics–are reminded to “carry out”, as one carries the Cross of Christ, in their daily lives, especially in this Jubilee of Mercy.

Guided by the words of the Blessed Mother in her Magnificat: “For He has remembered His promise of Mercy“ [Lk 1:54] and in the light of the Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy, this pilgrimage aims to be an opportunity for young people to discover and experience God’s merciful love.

The Pilgrim Cross of Mercy will arrive on October 28 in the Cathedral Shrine of the Good Shepherd. The Closing Mass will be held in Ina ng Lupang Pangako Parish, Payatas on October 29 and the Farewell and Send-off Ceremonies will be held in Payatas Memorial Site after the closing mass. Activities during the 3-day visit include the Pathway and the Vigil with the Cross of Mercy.

COY NOVA hopes that young people, through the Parish Youth Ministries (PYM) and other various Youth groups, will receive the Cross of Mercy and encounter God’s mercy through the Pilgrim Cross of Mercy.

The National Pilgrimage of the Cross of Mercy is organized by the YOUCAT Philippines together with the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines’ Episcopal Commission on Youth (CBCP-ECY) and has started visiting dioceses in the Country since January of this year. (~COY NOVA)
