Diocese of Novaliches Conducts Leadership Consultation with the Youth
By AC Wilson
November 5, 2015, St. Peter Shrine— Around fifteen (15) youth leaders from the Commission on Youth (COY), Vicariate and Parish Youth Ministries participated in a consultation on leadership. The said activity aims to listen to the voices of the youth regarding their personal views on leadership, the challenges they face, and the support they need to become better young leaders. This is the first leg in a series of consultations with different stakeholders in the Diocese. Gradually, the information gathered will be utilized in the making of a Diocesan lay formation program that shall be foundational and beneficial among lay leaders, across commissions and ministries.
The team who led the youth consultation was composed of Rev. Fr. Antonio E. Labiao, Jr., Vicar General for Pastoral Affairs; Rev. Fr. Jim Lara and Rev. Fr. Tito Caluag— both with degrees in Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University (Washington, USA); Rev. Fr. Alvin Balean, priest coordinator of the Commission on Youth; and with the support of Mr. Karl Comiling, BEC animator and program officer and yours truly.
